Hi,

My name is Som, a father, writer, entrepreneur, traveller, and Beer and food fanatic. I am from the “City of Joy” – Kolkata, INDIA. I came to work as a freelancer in magazines after receiving my bachelor of Commerce from the Calcutta University in Calcutta (now Kolkata).

I’m very passionate traveller. I would definitely describe myself as a “Happy Soul Traveller”. Travelling has always been a major part of my life.

I have opportunity to drive to all these incredible places around the nation because of the blog. Each location has its own allure and promises a unique experience.

I saw information about these locations that was different from what I had previously experienced.

When “Jab We Met” was first aired a number of years back, I absolutely adored how Manali was portrayed in the film. In order to view it on the way, I had scheduled a vacation to Manali at the time. But owing to a lack of funding, the idea did not function.

What is the one thing that travel
has made you think about?

Travel teaches you to be so humble because it makes you aware of how small you are in the grand scheme of things. Although we are a very small part of the cosmos, we have a
tendency to take ourselves very seriously.

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, On your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, You leave something good behind.”
Anthony Bourdain

About my Blog

I hope that by sharing my travel experiences with you, I can motivate you to realise your own dreams. I’ve always enjoyed documenting the locations I go. I improved my equipment over the past two years by getting a better camera (Nikkon Gears) and better lenses (Nikkor lenses). My current priorities have been learning how to edit my photos and improving my photography skills in general.

WE HAVE TRAVELED WIDELY ACROSS INDIA. MOST NOTABLE OF THESE WAS OUR TRAVEL IN THE HIMALAYAS

Locals are the finest tour guides I’ve encountered on my travels, so I adore conversing with them everywhere I go.

I attempt to be a responsible traveller, I adore travelling on public transportation OR hiring cabs, using homestays as lodging, and dining on regional cuisine.

I write about travel, festivals, and how-to articles based on personal experience that help you discover the best of your new location. I also cover long-term trips and weekends, weeks, and fortnights.

I do my own travel planning without the aid of a tour operator or pre-planned itinerary. Finding travel guides at the library, researching topics online, and, of course, learning all the incredible advice from other travel bloggers, are all part of the fun.

I like the preparation, the build-up to the trip, whether it be by airline, train, bus, or boat, the vacation itself, and ultimately all the amazing memories and experiences I bring back with me that I will never forget.

One of my main hobbies is food, so whenever I travel, I make sure to sample as much of the local cuisine as possible. As a food enthusiast, I like finding outstanding restaurants and telling people about them. I look for the top cafés and eateries whenever I travel to a new city or nation. My favourite places are those that offer fantastic cuisine, a friendly service, reasonable costs, and a stunning ambience.

Who am I not? I don’t go on hikes. I don’t travel much. I don’t just up and quit my work, giving up my previous way of life to travel nonstop. I’m simply a man who has found a way to juggle work, family, owning a home, and travelling, and I want to prove to you that you can do the same.

As a Happy family man, I made the decision to spend time with them and do all the husband-father-mother-son activities we planned to undertake on each of our travels. I’ve always been seen as an authority figure. I wanted to portray a husband and a father who are respectable enough for them to listen to.

    Food tours and tastings

Events with food sampling options may be found in many
bigger locations, such as cheese, whiskey, chocolate, or
    degustation dinners.

Food tours also provide you the chance to learn about local
specialties that you might not have otherwise known about.
They give you the chance to experience something new and
let you view your area through the eyes of a tourist.

    Wine tasting

While travelling, we enjoy visiting wineries. It enables us to
enjoy a leisurely and lavish day outside. We suggest this as
one of the top pastimes for travellers who enjoy drinking
    alcohol.

ou may simply indulge in the passion of collecting while
travelling or at home. It may be anything from books to stones
to coins to stamps to fridge magnets to trinkets.

    Post carding

Nothing compares to getting a postcard in the mail. Due to
fast updates provided by social media and email, post carding
has lost some of its appeal. It's a great way to keep a record of
your trips, whether you send it to a friend or just to yourself at
    your home address.

    Attending Events

I realise this seems extremely nebulous, but bear with me.
Some people adore going to certain events, like culinary or
music festivals, both domestically and overseas. This is such a
wonderful approach to blend many hobbies and gain fresh
    insight.

        My travel Principles

Traveling responsibly in terms of the environment, the economy, and society is important to me. That entails, to name a few, carbon offsetting my flights, eating regionally, keeping my money close to home, never photographing children, being aware of the social and cultural context, and speaking less than I listen. I’m dedicated to demonstrating to you how to get the most out of your travel experiences, including where to spend, how to save money, and a tonne of insider tips I’ve gleaned from my own experience. Oh, and amusing trip accounts, thoughts, and amazing travel images.

        How Do I Travel?

        1. 1 I ADORE going on city trips and exploring new cities.
        2. 2 Often on a mid-range spending plan. I’ve never stayed in a hostel, and I’m willing to pay a bit extra for a cosyhotel.
        3. 3 When I travel, I’m constantly searching for the greatest independent cafés because I love a nice cup of coffee (although, Starbucks filer coffee is always a win for me).
        4. 4 While I enjoy crossing off the major attractions off my list, I also enjoy include a few hidden treasures to give some variety.
